The 3126 is used in many medium to large CAT machinery, including dump trucks, bulldozers, loaders, and excavators.
The 3126 has a 4.33-inch bore and 5.00-inch stroke, which gives it a displacement of 442 cubic inches (7.2L). The crankshaft and tapered connecting rods are forged from steel, and the crank's journals have undergone induction hardening. The 3126 also has a 3-valve, cast-iron cylinder head.
