The Volvo Penta D2-55 is a marine diesel engine with a 4-cylinder, 2.2-liter capacity. It has 55 horsepower (41 kW) at 3000 RPM. The D2-55 has mechanical injection with fixed timing, and should not be run continuously below 2000 RPM. In calm water, the recommended maximum continuous engine speed is 2800 RPM, and in head seas it is 2600 RPM.
