Ford 427 Engine
This Ford 427ci Side-Oiler V8 has less than 1k miles on it since it was rebuilt in January 2016. Using a combination of OEM and vintage aftermarket parts, the build features a hydraulic-lifter Ford block bored to 4.250?, cast stock stroke OEM crankshaft, 850 CFM Holley double-pumper carburetor and a COMP Magnum cam. The engine was most recently installed in a 1969 Ford Torino, and was removed in January 2017 to repair two cracks in the block. Described as a bolt-in service block replacement for any 352, 360, 390, or 428 FE engine, this Ford engine is now being offered for sale at no reserve in Utah on a bill of sale with its pulleys, alternator brackets.
The engine was built in 2016 with a hydraulic-lifter Ford block bored to 4.250 a cast-stroke OEM crankshaft, forged OEM rods, and Wiseco forged pistons. The cast-iron small chamber heads have been ported and port-matched to the Offenhauser 360 intake manifold.
A COMP Magnum 280H hydraulic flat tappet camshaft features a double roller timing set, Manton pushrods, and factory rockers. Ignition is from a late-style vacuum advance distributor with new 7mm plug wires. A high-volume fuel pump feeds an 850 CFM Holley double pumper carburetor. The oil pump and block relief valve were replaced during the rebuild, and the oil pan is a five-quart capacity front sump.
Calculated compression is 10.57:1 with a 5,800 RPM redline. The engine runs on 91 octane gasoline, and the sale includes pulleys, alternator brackets.
