IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT DRIVESHAFT: This lower unit DOES NOT include the upper driveshaft and the water pump. - You will use your lower unit upper driveshaft, water pump, and shift rod. - If your old unit has a one piece driveshaft (most pre 1991) you will need to purchase an upper driveshaft. - This lower unit uses the newer style stubshaft (upper driveshaft) with a clip. If your upper shaft is not the newer style you will need to replace the upper driveshaft with the newer style mostly after 1992. - In older models (most pre 1991) you may need to change the Thrust bearing to the new style LOWER UNIT INFO: - Fits 20" or 25" midsections. - Gear ratio: 1.83:1 - 15 spline propeller shaft for 15 spline propellers for large propellers above 14" diameter.
